BrightSpring Expects $35M EBITDA Boost From Amedisys, LHC Group Assets

BrightSpring Health Services’ (Nasdaq: BTSG) recently acquired Amedisys and LHC Group assets outpaced initial expectations in Q2, driving approximately $78 million in Q2 revenue and $8 million in adjusted EBITDA.

On the company’s Q2 earnings call on Friday, leadership reported that volume at the acquired branches has increased under BrightSpring’s ownership.

“From a guidance perspective, we had planned for a slower ramp on some of the growth initiatives … just to make sure that the team had the time that they needed in order to really be able to do the integration work that we had going on,” said Jennifer Phipps, chief financial officer of BrightSpring,. “We’re working through the final steps of integration, and we just feel more confident about the ability to increase that guidance.”

Louisville, Kentucky-based BrightSpring operates a national network of home- and community-based health and pharmacy providers. In May 2025, Amedisys announced that it had struck a deal with the Pennant Group (Nasdaq: PNTG) and BrightSpring to divest home health and hospice centers as part of its merger with UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH).

On the earnings call, CEO Jon Rousseau reported that the acquisitions were expected to contribute $35 million in EBITDA in 2026, an increase of $5 million over expectations shared on the Q1 earnings call. The acquisitions also drove total revenue for Q2, which rang in at $3.9 billion, an increase of 23% year-over-year.

The company’s home health segment represented its fastest-growing provider service line, bringing in $278 million in revenue, a 51% increase year-over-year. An increase in average daily census growth, de novo expansions and the impact of the Amedisys and LHC Group assets drove the year-over-year increase, according to Rousseau.

The company is set to continue to grow through acquisition. Rousseau said that BrightSpring signed several small tuck-in deals and geographic expansions in Q2 and is optimistic about completing these deals in the second half of 2026.

The company’s personal care service line revenue came in at $107 million in Q2, a 7% increase year-over-year. Phipps attributed the growth to modest growth in persons served, strong growth in hours billed and stable operations.

Rousseau signaled optimism regarding the home infusion market, saying that the “pretty fragmented” industry represents a $20 billion opportunity.

BrightSpring is evolving its operations on both the technology and staffing fronts.

The company has invested in clinical, HR and operational systems and new applications, including AI tools and agents. The technology is used in hiring, onboarding, intake, documentation, medication review and patient care plans, Rousseau said.

Phipps forecast that the investments in AI and automation projects are likely to materialize either later in 2026 or early in 2027.

BrightSpring also invested in new talent, including new corporate leaders that Phipps said would help drive value.

On reimbursement and contracting, Rousseau said BrightSpring’s quality performance and relationships with payers, ACOs and hospital systems have helped the company secure preferred-provider agreements. The CEO said there is a great opportunity to formalize post-discharge programs and enter into more preferred agreements, thereby driving volume growth.
